Avocados

This poem is a request from an inspirational friend of mine, to whom I owe much thanks.

 Avocados

Why the small

Avocado? Well, just simply because

They're delicious isn't enough. It's cause she said.

So, these brown green under green yummies are

The pride and glory of my bacon sandwich

The brown sphere is central to this fruit

This fruit that so splendidly makes a dish

Called (and lovingly so) guacamole, a pasty

Delicious condiment mixed with tomato and onion

Or you take a ripe and squishy avocado, skin and gut it

And slice up the master topper for your favorite crackers

This one, so small, who lays beside his brother in scaly skin

Who says to the world at large, "I am divine in flavor, now begin

All ye hungry mortals, to seek within, and find your taste buds' friend

And though hired to say, in truth I say to you all this, And not just,

But also, now what better reason is there for so great a natural

Food? And why wouldn't a loser like me, my King,

Write a poem to describe it's majesty?
